The Ensemble Meme believes in sharing their love and joy for music making with everyone. Recently, members of Meme – Molly & Carrie – were invited to share their music with families who have kids battling cancer and who are residing at the Ronald McDonald House on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. They spent the dinner hour visiting the kids and touring their beautiful facility—including a music room replete with an “Angry Birds” electric guitar! Afterwards, Meme gave a mini concert of Rachmaninoff’s Cello Sonata and Piazzolla’s Grand Tango to the wonderful audience. Meme members are delighted to be participating in their Gala Fundraising event this coming June 19.
A thank you note from the RM House:
On behalf of the children and families here at the Ronald McDonald House of NY, we would like to thank you for your volunteer involvement. The performance last night with the Cellist and Clarinetist was a great success! The families loved it! We are truly impressed with the good work you do. We look forward to working with you again in the future and wish you all the best.
As you know the Ronald McDonald House provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families. Here families find a strong, supportive, and caring environment that encourages families. Every day, children form friendships with other children, regain a sense of control, and experience the fun of childhood. Parents also gain strength and new understanding through friendships they form with other parents who understand exactly how they feel.
We are very grateful for your support.
